Remarketing / Retargeting
Showing ads to people who previously visited your website.
Definition
Remarketing (Google) or Retargeting (Meta) lets you show ads to people who have already interacted with your website or app. These audiences are warmer and typically convert at higher rates. You can segment by pages visited, time since visit, or actions taken.
Practical Tips
- Segment audiences by intent level (viewed product vs. added to cart)
- Use frequency caps to avoid annoying users
- Exclude recent converters from remarketing
- Create specific ads for cart abandoners with incentives
